The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and well being of children. Their work is rooted in the belief that when you change a child’s life, you change a family’s, which can change a community, and ultimately the world. Ronald McDonald House Charities strives to be part of that change by providing programs that strengthen families during their most difficult or challenging times. For 38 years, they have have extended their reach and impact by continually establishing Chapters across the globe. RMHC makes an immediate, positive impact on children's lives through their global network of Chapters in 57 countries and regions through their three core programs: Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room, and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.
And they don’t do it alone. They rely on their Chapters to identify needs and carry out their mission on the ground. They rely on their strong relationships with the medical community to provide access to health care. They rely on strategic alliances with organizations that have the knowledge and infrastructure to extend their reach. And they rely on people like you– donors, volunteers, staff and friends.

In alliance with their mission and vision, our organization aims to continue the work of Ronald McDonald House Charities. Ronald McDonald Houses are built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal or where they will lay their head at night to rest. Bruins for Ronald McDonald House Charities shares the belief that when a child is hospitalized the love and support of family is as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed.
We work specifically with the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House. For 32 years the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House has provided families with a safe and supportive place to stay while their child undergoes treatment for critical illness or injuries at local hospitals. To date, more than 25,000 families have stayed at the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House during their time of need.
The Ronald McDonald House spends approximately $90 per night to shelter a family. Guests pay a nominal nightly fee of $25 if they can afford it. No families have ever been turned away because of an inability to pay. Significantly, 60% of the families they serve can’t afford to pay the modest daily fee. In 2011, the LARMH hosted 2,299 families for 19,407 nights. We are one of the largest Ronald McDonald Houses in the world with 75 rooms and we have served families from every state in the country and 47 different countries around the world. Our organization is so honored to call this House our home.
